From Beer, to Coffee, to Nootropics

During the late 1700s in Europe a major change in morning habits was occurring, people started waking up and drinking coffee and tea in the morning. It doesn’t seem that impressive of a change. But if you look at what they were drinking before you’ll realize why it was such a big deal. Before the introduction of these caffeine based drinks, beer was what people started their day off with. Drinking beer was actually the healthier option to drink in lieu of water, due to unhealthy water sources. I don’t think I need to explain that beer does not benefit one’s productivity.

This major change from a depressant to a stimulant has been said to fuel one the greatest periods of mankind, the enlightenment. Not only did it supply energy it also created information hubs, coffee houses. These coffee houses were places where great minds could sit around share ideas, have discussions on philosophy, business, science, etc…

Now in this modern age we have the internet, a little bit better than the old coffee house (sarcasm). The sharing of information is on a whole different level  that would have coffee house goers  rolling in their graves. Communities that have formed online have resulted in the rise of Nootropics, which would seem to be the natural successor to Coffee and tea. With our medical advancements we’re abel to identify beneficial ingredients and optimize them.  Instead of just getting energy from caffeine, we are able improve our brain’s cognition with the right dosage of L-theanine. Although its probably not as impressive of a change as caffeine to beer, I believe Nootropics will make quite the splash on history.

Nootropics are still very early stages and should be noted that it took several centuries for coffee to become a staple of european society. My honest belief is that our product is the natural first step for Nootropics to become part of the mainstream. I think moving from caffeine for energy, to the cognitive enhancing benefits of caffeine + L-theanine is how Nootropics will get its foot in the door.
